About the Author

Louise Fecher was an editor of Dolls magazine from 1982 through 1987, and served as contributing editor from 1988 through 2001. For a decade (1991-2001), her regular column, "News from the Studios," kept readers up to date on contemporary doll artists and manufacturers. A freelance editor and writer, she has written more than 175 articles about makers of contemporary dolls, and has contributed articles to The New York Daily News, Diversion and other publications. Her work also appears in the book, The Art of the Doll, published by the National Institute of American Doll Artists (NIADA). A doll collector for more than twenty years, Ms. Fecher is a member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs (UFDC) and a patron member of NIADA. She lives in Westchester County, New York, with her husband, son, cat and more than one hundred dolls.
